Most people who know me will be aware of how much Roxy Music have had an effect on my taste. From my early teens I’ve been captivated by their Pop Art juxtapositions and musical collages – so much so, they became a route map for many of my aesthetic journeys in life. With this in mind, I was thrilled when my friend and super Roxy enthusiast Jocelyn Fiske asked me to create a print for the ‘Deluxe and Delightful’ limited edition (100 copies) of her wonderful fan / photography book ‘Roxy Live Under Exposed’.
Jocelyn sent me a whole lot of her images and I incorporated them with my own photography and collage source materials to invent the cover of an imagined 1970’s German music / culture magazine called ‘Leben Und Kunst’. The main idea was to create a midsummer night dream scene Roxy Music gig populated by a bespoke audience of enchanted fans.
The image was great fun to create… hopefully those in the know may spot more than a few Roxy references …..
